You have probably heard the expression "you are what you eat", but have you ever thought about the truth of this statement? Healthy eating is the key to wellbeing. We are all made up of 100 trillion cells in our bodies, each one demanding a constant supply of daily nutrients in order to function optimally. Food affects all of these cells, and by extension, every aspect of our being: mood, energy levels, food cravings, thinking capacity, sex drive, sleeping habits, and general health. Eating clean by getting the best sources of protein, carbs, fat, fibers, etc. is something that you should teach yourself to love. You will always feel fresh, focused, and good about yourself, and don't get that bloated stomach and tiredness after you’re done. As a matter of fact, you will feel far less tired and maintain a high energy level during the day, if you don't overeat and avoid foods that contain high levels of sugar and refined carbohydrates.

If you feed your body junk and convenience foods, it will simply lay down fat, lower your energy and the functioning of your brain. The type of food like processed food, pizza, cheese, white bread, etc. causes a rise in your blood sugar levels which then drops dramatically within just the first hour. Additionally, eating this kind of food will increase inflammation in your body, which is bad news, if you want to be healthy. However, it can all be avoided by holding back on these foods that promote inflammation. Instead, increase the proportion of fruits and vegetables in your diet and make fish one of your main sources of protein and omega-3s. Moreover, if you are truly determined to change your lifestyle, think more about what you eat, and you will eventually feel awesome to your mind and body.
